Handgun Defense 1

Student Price: $75.00 payable in advance of class + gun rental fees ( if needed) + ammunition.
Schedule: 3 hours, 6pm- 9pm

April 13th, Wednesday: 6:00PM to 9:00PM

Equipment: Students will need to bring eye and ear protection, purchase 100 rounds of ammunition, and bring or rent a semi-auto handgun with at least 2 magazines or a revolver with at least 1 speed loader or moon clips. A notebook and pen/pencil is also recommended, to take notes.

Prerequisites: Must have taken a Basic Pistol Handgun class, free of criminal background, and legally able to own or be in possession of handguns.
Maximum Number of Students: 6

Class Description

Basic Handgun Defense is a shooting course that provides basic skill for using a handgun in self-defense.

The course includes:

- Safe firearm handling at home and on the street
- Different ammunition types, function, and uses in self-defense
- Handgun shooting techniques that work under stress
- Multiple shots and multiple target techniques
- Reloading techniques that work under stress
- One handed techniques and shooting when wounded, skills ______________________________________________________________

Handgun Defense 2

Schedule: 3 hours, 6pm- 9pm

Equipment:

-Notebook and pen/pencil for notes
-Eye and ear protection
-A semi-auto handgun with at least 2 magazines (more is better) and a
belt carrier, holder, or pouch for them.
-Or a revolver with at least 1 speed loader or moon clips (more is
better) and a belt carrier, holder, or pouch for them
-A rigid belt or gun belt
-A rigid belt holster with covered trigger guard. No fanny packs,
shoulder holsters, small-of-the-back (SOB) holsters or soft, collapsible
fabric holsters, please.
-Purchase 50 rounds of ammunition from the range (done during class)

Prerequisites

-Completion of Handgun Defense 1 (or instructor approval).
-Free of criminal background

Class Description

Handgun Defense 2 picks up where Handgun Defense 1 leaves off and
provides intermediate skills for using a handgun in self-defense.

The course includes:

-Safe firearm handling, and holster specific considerations
-Discussion of range holster types, materials, locations
-Discussion of magazine and speed loader carriers
-Drawing from a belt holster safely and quickly
-Reloads from the magazine and speed loader carriers
-Handgun retention positions
-Threat Scanning
